In March 2020, the world changed; kids did not step foot in a school building for months, work-from-home became part of our culture, and the world saw a tremendous health crisis. That summer, I set out to create a time capsule to capture that moments. It was an experiment, both ideologically and technically. This was my first experience producing a podcast and I wanted to experiment with how we captured the experiences of 2020. Although this podcast has a wide-range of experiences, these are not the only experiences. This is simply a window into a small fraction of the experiences of 2020, a time capsule for the future.
Original Synopsis: Our history books are built on the art, diaries, newspapers, and letters of past human beings. Naturally, as time moves on, the way we capture our history changes dramatically. As our world becomes more and more digital, the way we capture our history is changing as well. I have also seen that the platforms that teenagers have right now are limited in what they show and see. In order to create a true show of what our time looks like right now, our platform needs to be expanded as well. I’ve decided to create a digital 2020 time capsule, in the form of a podcast. I’m focusing especially on the Class of 2020 and each episode will be an interview with a different person to capture who they are right now.
